About Studio Karmeh
Founded in 1999 by Lubna Badran and Ernest Saqa, Studio Karmeh joins an architect's eye with a family tradition of craft.
At the heart of our practice is a respect for materials and the people who work with them. We believe that good design should reveal the inherent qualities of the material and find a thoughtful balance between function, form, and making.
Our approach to craftsmanship is also deeply shaped by our history. We had the opportunity to work alongside Ernest's father, a master craftsman, for many years. This experience rooted us in the values of quality, innovation, and integrity in making. By bringing together design and craftsmanship, tradition and innovation, we seek to create furniture that carries a sense of cultural identity while belonging naturally to contemporary life.

Born in Amman. Learned traditional joinery from his father, a master craftsman, and completed a BA in interior design.
